You know what I've always wondered?

Good question, in fact there are two stories around. Pick the one you like.

Lemur kattas are a symbol of perfect adaptation to a habitat. In fact all 45 different Lemur species (some already extinct ) seem to have the same ancestor (DNA-analysis is proving this) which found his way to Madagascar 80 millions years ago. Madagascar was already separated from Africa at his time. Today, Lemurs can be found in almost all climatic zones the Island is so rich with (1400 miles long!), from half-desert, mountain region till rain forest. A succesful evolution story which we understand as a model we would like to see happen for our company as well…;-). Well, I have to add that the Lemurs are endangered today by homo sapiens because of habitat destruction. The Lemur katta is just one species ... the cutest one and yes, I was once in Madagascar.

The merchants from the Roman empire were already exploring the Indian Ocean 2000 years ago and knew about Madagascar. But of course communication techniques weren’t yet so advanced in these times. Lemurs are mostly found in the rain-forest which was still abundant during this time and they can be heard in the night because of their scary cries. And in the night they even may look a bit spooky...the merchants and sailors brought the idea back that those cries and spooky faces must belong to bad night ghosts giving you nightmares if you didn’t behave- wonder what they did…lol...for me it’s a warning that I shouldn’t play SL too much...

Up to you to pick up the definition you like

Wow I had no idea lemurs where that adaptable. I'll have to pick story number 1 since I don't like nightmares lol.
